PROJECT
Organic Farming Project
Helping small organic farms in Shonan, Tokyo and Chiba areas and supporting underserved families and at risk youth.

The Organic Farming Project offers helping hands to local farmers.
Inspired by Slow Food International and the Edible School Yard Project, our Organic Farming Project started in Shonan in 2015.
This Project offers helping hands to farmers along with providing donations of seasonal vegetables to local food banks and children's cafeterias.
Working with local organic farmers mainly in Chiba, Tokyo, and Shonan, the project serves to enhance the understanding of the natural food cycle, the land-sea connections and appreciate the pleasure of good fresh food.

With the Organic Farming Project, you can
-
Help local organic farmers with tasks when needed, as well as support the local agricultural economy.
-
Preserve biodiversity, and join bespoke "Healthy Soils - Healthy Seas" workshops to learn about composting, traditional ways of planting.
-
Slow down and appreciate nature and the food you eat.
-
Donate fresh vegetables to local Food Banks like Second Harvest, Tokyo.
-
Support the new "Sow the Seed" urban gardening program for youth. The aim is to provide a train-the -trainer program that offers knowledge and expertise as well as materials to grow mini urban gardens for an ongoing supply of fresh seasonal vegetables.
